Standard Accommodations

For our patients on a limited budget, we can provide lodgings near the airport or near our office in the West Ashley area. We are located just minutes from some of the grandest southern plantations and gardens along the Ashley River. If you prefer, the downtown historic area is only a short drive away. Our staff will help you with the following arrangements:

  • Convenient hotels offering discounts near our office. Here are other downtown accommodations
  • Reservation for a rental car accessible at the Charleston International Airport
  • Procurement of a taxi if the patient would rather not drive after office visits

Luxury Accommodations

Three of our best hotels have been repeatedly selected by such distinguished surveys as Travel & Leisure, Conde` Nast and Trip Advisor as the “Best in the World” and the “Best in America’s Small Cities”: The Planters Inn, French Quarter Inn, and Wentworth Mansion.

This package is for our patients who are interested in luxury hotels, intimate bed & breakfast inns, a private driver, tourism information and some of the finest restaurants in the U.S. in the midst of the excitement of this historic city. Our staff will assist you in making your plans with the following:

  • Reservations at one the best 4 or 5 star luxury hotels downtown such as the Wentworth Mansion, the French Quarter Inn and Charleston Place all in the center of the historic district. If you prefer being near the shore, we can arrange rental of a house or luxury oceanfront villa at one of the many island beaches surrounding Charleston.
  • Arrangement for a private driver and limousine or luxury car for your stay with the driver awaiting your arrival at Charleston International Airport for the 25 minute drive downtown.
  • Arrangements to visit tourist attractions in which you and your family are interested.

Historic Downtown

Charleston, SC. has become a world famous destination exemplifying old world southern charm, beauty and hospitality winning awards for her charms every year!

Throughout its history, the Historic Downtown District in Charleston has been the cultural capital of the South and is a living museum. In this beautifully preserved city you can experience tours through historic landmarks, including 18th century homes and plantations, the Battery, museums, churches and the city market. There are historic sites on every street corner, usually next door to an art gallery or cultural venue due to the city’s impressive appreciation for all of the arts. Two internationally renowned festivals, Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto, are held in May and June bringing thousands of visitors. In addition, our Wine & Food Festival, Southeastern Wildlife Exposition and Fashion Week draw people from everywhere. Charleston also offers world-class dining experiences at its dozens of restaurants downtown. You will find there are many historic Charleston accommodations from which to choose when planning your visit.

Some of the best ways to see our beautiful city are by taking a Charleston historic tour, long walks peeking into the beautiful courtyards beside the historic homes, visiting the many exquisite churches and museums, and browsing the many unique shops and franchise stores along King Street, named “One of the Top Ten Shopping Districts in US.”

Escape to the Beach, to the Islands

Charleston’s barrier islands are numerous and beautiful with their wide beaches. The Isle of Palms is less than 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. Folly Beach is located about 15 miles south of Charleston and is known as Charleston’s truly original beach playground. These areas hold primarily private homes, but many may be rented if you prefer recovering by the ocean. The resorts of Seabrook and Kiawah are visited by golfers and vacationers from around the world. Located just 22 miles south of Charleston, these islands are private and owned by their residents; however, there are villa and condo rentals available. Kiawah Island was selected as the 2014 Travel & Leisure’s “Top Island, Continental US”.

Family Attractions

While you are in town with your family or companion, there are some great places to visit: the South Carolina Aquarium downtown on the harbor, the retired World War II battleship, The Yorktown, sits on the other shore of the harbor in Mt. Pleasant which can be explored. Visit the site of the original Charles Towne Landing settlement. Slip back into time touring the many plantations and gardens in the area. The entire family will enjoy the many tours available. There are boat tours and carriage rides downtown where you learn some of the fascinating stories about our old city and its people. A tour boat will take you to Fort Sumter in the harbor, the site of the first shots of the Civil War.
